More Information-

Get a head start on your career in the global sports industry with a Bachelor’s degree in International Sports Management from The Hague of Applied Science. This programme focuses on the organisational side of sports. You will develop the skills of a confident leader who is capable of navigating international sports networks and driving intercultural initiatives.

What we look for

  • A passion for sports
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • A global outlook
  • A genuine interest in business

Additionally, having aptitude and curiosity for finance, marketing, research, communications, sociology, ethics, technology, law and politics is beneficial.

What you can expect

You will experience a variety of teaching methods. You will gain in-depth knowledge of sports marketing, sports policy, financial management and the impacts of sports on our society. The programme has a strong international focus, which is deeply integrated into our curriculum, group projects and individual assignments for students.

You will gain practical experience every year. In the first year, you will go on a one-week field trip to a European country and visit their sports organisations. This is an excellent introduction to the global sports community. In the second year, you will complete an internship with a sports organisation overseas. We believe that working abroad is the best way for you to develop cross-cultural communication skills and adaptability. In your final year, you will undertake another internship with a sports organisation of your choice. You will also have the chance to combine work experience with your academic training through writing a graduation report/thesis about this organisation.

What we offer

We strive to achieve a balance between theoretical studies, group projects supervised by international staff, and case studies written by experts from the sports industry.

Our students benefit from our strong relationships with sports federations and governing bodies, such as the Union of European Football Associations, Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and the International Tennis Federation ITF. Many of our students have completed internships at these esteemed organisations.

You will be based at the new Sportcampus Zuiderpark with modern facilities. The Hague City Council hosts many international sports events throughout the year, and our students always get to play a big role in organisation and management of these events.

How to apply

We expect our candidates to have at least three A’ levels.

The application process involves an online application via Studielink and an interview. We will test your affinity with sports and your motivations. A passion for sports, a basic understanding of business and an international outlook are the key to succeed in the application process.
