First deadlines approach for International Medical Studies

We are delighted to announce that admissions are now open at all three of the medical schools we will be representing this year:

As UK medical students start to know what their options in this country will be, a quite considerable number of them will need to start considering medical schools overseas. We only work with a handful of medical schools and, while they are quite different institutions, they all have some key basic attributes in common; the most important of these are small class sizes and a commitment to ensuring their students are looked after and are able to benefit from excellent teaching, facilities and connection to advanced research. In the case of our Italian partners, students can also benefit from on-campus halls of residence, something which is extremely rare at international universities.

We appreciate that applying to medical schools abroad can be quite a daunting experience, and while no one can guarantee that students will be successful in gaining a place at any of these three medical schools, we believe that they are amongst the very best options open to British and Irish students.

All the medical schools we work with have their own entrance exams; these are an unavoidable fact of life. However, some of them more closely resemble exams you might already be familiar with. For example, Humanitas University uses the IMAT Entrance Exam, the international version of the BMAT. Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore has recently changed its exam so that it has quite a lot in common with the IMAT. University of Rijeka’s exam is focussed only on scientific knowledge and students will be judged on biology, chemistry and maths or physics. We can provide sample tests for all of these exams on request. You can actually download the last few years’ of IMAT tests from Humanitas University’s website.

The entrance exams for both Italian universities can be taken in the United Kingdom but you can only take the Rijeka exam in Croatia as things stand.

The deadlines and exam dates for applying to these medical schools are:

  • 1st February and 27th February 2019 for Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore
  • 20th February and 15th March 2019 for Humanitas University
  • 15th March and 29th March 2019 for University of Rijeka

It is possible that Rijeka and Humanitas might have exams later in the year but this is not certain at this time.

Please contact us if you would like further information about any of these options.
