Are there any universities offering eSport degrees?

Dear A Star Future

I am interested in a career in eSport management, but not sure where I can study it. Should I consider a different subject?

A Star Future replies

Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK) has launched the first degree in eSports Business anywhere in Europe and it is taught in English. For many years, KAMK has been at the forefront of game and simulator education and application development.

Kajaani University of Applied Sciences also offers a Bachelor's degree programme in Sports and Leisure Management.

eSports have become increasingly popular since the beginning of the 21st century and in Finland they are also one of the fastest-growing top sports, already a natural part of many young people's everyday lives. For young people from other countries who share the Finns passion, KAMK has developed a practical, business-based degree that enables students to develop an understanding of competitive gaming.

We cannot offer any advice on the quality of this particular programme. We have flagged it up purely because it speaks to a niche interest that we hear about a lot.
