Why should your child study abroad?
One of the most enduring trends of recent times is the increasing internationalisation of almost every aspect of life. In order to be fully prepared for a career in the first half of the 21st century, tomorrow’s students need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of many different cultures. Participation in international education around the world has grown dramatically and many young people travel as part of their studies. It is fair to say that British students are not currently taking advantage of these opportunities to the same extent as their counterparts in other European countries.
Today’s employers often remark that attributes such as maturity and cultural understanding are in short supply amongst British graduates. In an increasingly global work environment, those students who are able to demonstrate an understanding of not only international business but also cultural differences will have a clear advantage when looking to take the first steps in their career.
Studying abroad encourages students to step outside their comfort zone and face the challenges of the real world head on. At the same time, by attending a reputable international higher education institution you can be sure that there is a fully accountable support network in place so that your child will not feel as if they are on their own in a strange place. We believe that education is about more than what can be taught in the classroom and while this may be the most important consideration, it is not the only one. Students should look for the best quality of education and quality of experience.
In addition to the global situation, the UK higher education environment is changing. The introduction of top-up fees means that studying in the United Kingdom may not be the only financially viable option. We believe that it would be poor advice to choose an education purely on the basis of its cost. However, the relationship between price and quality is not always straightforward and as the true cost of a degree from an English university could be as much as £30,000, it might be a wise idea to take a thorough look at what else you could get for the money.
The purpose of this site is to provide you with information about some of the options out there. We cannot possibly aim to give you comprehensive information as there are far too many courses, universities and internship programmes to be outlined here. However, those organisations which are listed on this site are actively looking to assist British students in finding their dream opportunity abroad.
We hope you find the site a useful resource when planning for the future. If you have any questions please feel free to email us at any time.
