Why should your students know more about studying and working abroad?
Since its foundation in February 2006, A Star Future has spoken to over 30,000 students at around 280 schools in the United Kingdom. On average, we have found that very few of the students we speak to have any kind of information about international education and typically this relates to studying languages. Our research indicates that as many as 25% of all students might be interested in studying abroad but currently only around 1.5% of students actually take advantage of this opportunity.
We believe that this is primarily because students do not have access to relevant information at an early stage in their decision making. Through our presentations in schools, our website and our email newsletters, we aim to assist you in advising your students about the world of opportunities open to them.
Today’s employers often remark that attributes such as maturity and cultural understanding are in short supply amongst British graduates. In an increasingly global work environment, those students who are able to demonstrate an understanding of not only international business but also cultural differences will have a clear advantage when looking to take the first steps in their career.
Studying abroad encourages students to step outside their comfort zone and face the challenges of the real world head on. At the same time, by attending a reputable international higher education institution there are unlikely to be any problems with accreditation, for most courses of study.
The purpose of this site is to provide you with information about some of the options out there. We cannot possibly aim to give you comprehensive information as there are far too many courses, universities and internship programmes to be outlined here. However, those organisations which are listed on this site are actively looking to assist British students in finding their dream study options abroad.
We hope you find the site a useful resource when planning for the future. If you have any questions please feel free to email us at any time.
