| Overview of the location
| Brno is located in the east of the Czech Republic. With a population of over 400,000. Brno is the second largest city in the country and is home to approximately 75,000 students in total. It is approximately 120 miles away from Prague which can easily be reached on a day trip. Brno is a city with a definite cosmopolitan flavour and its lengthy and rather grand boulevards at times offer a distinctive Parisian atmosphere. Locals in Brno like nothing more than to enjoy a coffee and a spot of culture, and the countless cafes are usually quite energetic. Rarely overflowing with tourists, Brno is a good place to experience traditional Czech life and some tasty regional specialities, rather than tourism themed attractions. Brno is well connected to the rest of the country by rail and air links and is easy to reach from the United Kingdom with direct flights offered by Ryanair from several locations. Brno is home to the biggest exhibition centre in the Czech Republic. Its important role in trade and commerce mean that the city is very well connected to the rest of Europe.

| Institutional facilities
| The University has excellent facilities for studying veterinary medicine and pharmacology. It also has excellent sporting facilities which are available for all students.
| ||
| Main subject areas | Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy (both in English) and Veterinary Hygiene and Ecology (in Czech only).
| ||
| Tuition fees | Annual fees are approximately €7,600 per year which can be paid in up to four installments. There is an application fee of €165 and a registration fee of €625 upon being accepted.
| ||
| Living costs | Living Costs are a lot lower than in the UK. A room in an apartment will cost about €200 per month. Assistance in finding a place to live is available. The university also has halls of residence and these offer a relatively good standard of accommodation. In fact, the halls are on a par with many at British universities. A total budget of €400 per month will be plenty. In combination with tuition fees the total cost of your degree is likely to be similar to the cost of studying in the United Kingdom.
| ||
| General entry requirements for UK students | You will need to have completed A levels. In addition, there is a compulsory entrance examination which tests your ability in biology and chemistry. You can sit the exam in London on several occasions throughout the year. Other locations may also become available. An offer will be made to you based on your performance in the exam. Preparation courses for the entrance examination are available. However, if you have, or are on your way to obtaining, good grades in your A levels, you should be well enough prepared for the exams already. For students who already hold a BSc and have passed the biology and chemistry entrance exam, the University Board of Admissions will decide as to what year they will be placed, based on the curriculum learned during their high school and Bachelor(s) degrees.
