With a population of 108,058, Leeuwarden is the biggest city in the province of Friesland. It is also its capital city. Although Campus Fryslân is a young faculty, there are already aver 22,000 students studying at the Universities of Applied Sciences in Leeuwarden. As such, it is an established student city that offers 64 different types of sports and several student associations.

During your three years at University College Friesland, you will complete two Living Lab projects. These are a unique feature of the GRL programme and provide you with the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge and skills in the real world. For the Living Lab projects, you work with private and public stakeholders and learn how to translate a real-world question into a question suitable for academic research. You then conduct the research and convert your findings into recommendations for the stakeholder.

University College Friesland prides itself on offering small-scale education with a maximum of 25 students per class. This ensures the utmost interaction between students and staff, and provides a truly personalised educational experience.
