Avans tops Dutch university of applied sciences ranking for the sixth time

Avans University of Applied Sciences once again takes the first place in the large universities of applied sciences category of Keuzegids Hbo, an annual independent guide published by the Dutch centre for information on higher education. The Breda-based university has been in the top 3 for the past 9 years and occupies the top position for the sixth time.

The Keuzegids compared study programmes based on the results of the Dutch National Student Survey and data on admission requirements, education quality and connection to the labor market.

According to the Keuzegids Hbo guide, 27 of the 54 study programmes at Avans are in the top 3 of their category.

Paul Rüpp, chair of the Avans Executive Board, is pleased with the result: 'While I can barely believe that we have achieved such exceptional results for so long, it is when you see the involvement and commitment shown by our staff that it becomes clear why we do so well. The interaction between students and lecturers is fantastic and that contributes to this university of applied sciences being such a close-knit community. It is a biotope with a great atmosphere that provides challenging education."
