This course is designed specifically to prepare students for work in a variety of challenging roles in the Justice Sector, such as law and policy, court and tribunal administration, and policy management in policing and corrections. The course provides a professional development program for justice professionals already working in justice agencies.

The Associate Degree provides foundational skills needed to work in this sector and enable students to acquire more specific skills which can be integrated into their individual working environments. In particular, students will acquire interpersonal and teamwork skills, and the capacity to operative effectively in collaborative working environments. They will also acquire a solid foundation in the application of those skills in the context of the justice environment. However, they will not acquire the ability to apply that knowledge in the critical and analytical way that will be the focus of the third year of the full degree program.

In this course, students would undertake multidisciplinary study and research in law, management, criminology and other social sciences. This would equip them to participate in the process of developing and implementing policy and to work effectively in justice administration.
