The Interior Architecture course explores the principles, knowledge and skills required to prepare graduates to enter design and interior architecture fields and to fulfil personal, professional and community objectives. The course aims to prepare graduates for the diverse sectors of the profession including living, working, social and service space design and their management and fit-out.

The course provides a general introduction to design and through a range of interdisciplinary and interior architecture specific studies affords a liberal and technical education. Students will explore the broad cultural and environmental issues associated with interior design and allied design fields such as architecture and industrial design. The degree equips students with a range of critical and creative skills as well as specific technical expertise.

There is significant industry involvement in the form of sponsored projects and visits to relevant institutions. Students will achieve high levels of proficiency in the execution of design processes and procedures.

Graduates will be equipped to pursue design careers in interior architecture consultancies, to extend their expertise in further studies or to initiate design or design-related enterprises.

The Bachelor of Interior Architecture also provides the design expertise and qualifications necessary to progress to the postgraduate degree of Master of Interior Architecture.
